Extreme weather resilience

The harshest conditions are just another day for L:TEC

The harshest conditions trackers regularly face come from the wind and its dynamic behavior. We use aeroelastic wind tunnel tests to optimize the tracker reactions under high winds. Our engineers used all of this testing to prove that our flat stow strategy is the pinnacle of wind event protection.

Stowing modules in the flat position reduces wind loads, preventing hidden efficiency thieves like micro cracks. We use our in-house software stack on a per-project basis to design our trackers efficiently to consider aeroelastic instability effects using multiple locking points to build rock-solid peace of mind.

Ideematec trackers handle snow loads based on the "snow-drop-off" strategy. Our trackers use their built-in snow sensors to determine when the preset quantity of snow accumulates on the tracker. When the designed snow load has been reached, the tracker will automatically rotate until the snow falls harmlessly to the ground, protecting the modules and tracker structure from carrying the weight of snow and, in parallel, increasing overall output.

Preventing hail damage is as simple as flipping a switch.

Our trackers are driven to the hail safety position during a hail event. The hail safety position is determined intelligently based on the wind direction during a hail event and orienting the modules in the best position to lessen impact loads from hail and protect the sensitive modules.

Aurora control software is tailored specifically to each site.

Monitoring local weather conditions to ensure the modules are safe using wind, snow, and hail control strategies. Our tracker protects your investment during hail and will intelligently move the trackers into the flat stow position during a high-wind hail event to ensure that all risks are immediately mitigated.
L:TEC provides the opportunity for cost savings not only with the efficiency of the design process but also with the reduction in overall materials needed for the project. Our German-engineered tracker requires less structural material without sacrificing strength, and the modular design drastically reduces construction time.
